Gator Gab – Week at a Glance for Week #13 – Nov. 26th-30th, 2018

Below is a peak at our week ahead followed by some important information items – have a wonderful week Gators!

Christmas Angel Tree

We are a wonderful community who looks out for each other. Christmas is a time that places great strains on families and we are there to support. Please consider buying a gift for a child in need. Gifts are starting to come in for our Christmas Angel Tree – Thanks for your consideration and generosity! … These gifts are used to help those within our SVDP and Blessed Sacrament Parish Community who may need our help. The Christmas Spirit is alive and well and this small but important gesture is just one example – again, thanks Gator Families!

Spirit Wear Reminder

We are excited to offer Gator Spirit Wear for purchase for our students, staff and parents!  We have several styles being offered, with items starting as low as $10!  Clothing is offered in your choice of either grey or royal blue and both youth and adult sizing is available. Some sizing samples are being delivered to the school but is always a good idea to order a little larger so that students can wear the items for more than one year and/or be passed down to siblings. A “winter toque” option will be added to our site early next week.

We are HOME OF THE GATORS and are proud of our long tradition of AWESOME Students, Staff and Parents and our GREAT SCHOOL SPIRIT! We celebrate School Spirit Days every Wednesday and proudly wear our school spirit wear and/or school colours (Royal Blue and Grey).

Our Spirit Wear Orders should arrive to the School in time for Christmas. All ordering is on line and will be “batched by classroom” to come directly to your child’s Classroom Teacher. Your child’s Teacher’s Name will appear in a drop down menu to assist with ordering. If this is a Christmas Gift, please inform your child’s Classroom Teacher to set it aside for you to pick up.

So lets ROCK our school colours and get caught wearing the GATOR!

Please visit the following website to view all available options for purchase.

NEW Playground @ OLOG – Survey

Your VOICE Matters – New Playground Structure SURVEY

Parents,

We are inviting all of our students, parents and staff to participate in a very short electronic survey to determine which style of playground the Our Lady of Grace School Community likes the best. Our Playground is very old and although repairs have made it safe for this year, we have been told it must be replaced in the near future.

Our awesome, hard working and proactive School Council continues to make this new playground and our student’s time outside at recess, in the evening or on weekends, the best it can be. In addition to fund raising, we are working on applying to grants that may add financial support or community project. Again, we are grateful for your support and hope you can respond to our survey to help guide our direction in future weeks and months – all of our stakeholders voices matter! Students and Staff will be given an opportunity to respond at school. Thanks for your support!

Please click on the SURVEY link below to respond …

Important Bulletin – Hold and Secure Today – Nov. 5th, 2018

Parents and Guardians,

The Waterloo Regional Police and our School Staff Team initiated Hold and Secure Safety Measures today during the start of our Lunch Hour. The driver of a stolen vehicle tried to hide in our parking lot while being pursued by another civilian who knew the vehicle had been stolen. The driver of the stolen vehicle hit a number of cars in our staff parking lot as he tried to maneuver the car to leave our school property. Police were a great support and had an officer at the school to assist. As well, we have been updated that a continuing investigation to catch the perpetrator is underway. The Hold and Secure lasted for a period of 15 minutes and we are proud of our students and staff in that just as we have  practiced all of the drills that schools conduct to be safe, everyone knew how to respond and did so in an efficient and timely manner.
